CF Monroe Helmschmeid Swirl Opal Ware Dresser Box with Orange Enamel Painted Flowers

This exquisite dresser box showcases the C. F. Monroe Co.'s signature Helmschmeid Swirl design from circa 1900. Hand-painted orange enamel flowers adorn the raised swirl pattern on the opaque milk glass top, while the ivory base features elegant brass ormolu fittings with a functioning hinge and original satin lining. A prime example of "Opal Ware"—the opaque glass blanks that Mt. Washington Glass Co. produced and Monroe's artisans decorated—this piece represents the golden era of Wave Crest glasswork (1890-1910). The mold design is documented in "Wave Crest: The Glass of C. F. Monroe." Unmarked. Dimensions: 4" diameter, 3½" tall.

Excellent Condition, minimal wear to enamel ~ No chips or cracks, bottom of the lining has some wear to it.
