RARE Antique Valentine Card Wood & George Whitney 1800s Old King Cole with Cherub Paper Lace Gold Embellished

A wonderful 1800s antique valentine card with die cut embossed image of Old King Cole from Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes, enjoying a feast, there is a cherub perched below and a red with blue background against the white embossed Dresden paper. The entire front has gold embellishments. Front is marked "Wood" on the edge and the back is marked in Red with a 'W' for George Whitney. There is a paper applied poem on the interior, a very rare image with beautiful artwork and craftsmanship.

Dimensions: 3 1/4" L

Circa 1870

Condition: EX overall appears quite intact except possibly a tiny bit of gold trim missing above the King's head, paper is still bright and not flimsy, a rare specimen of antique paper in really great condition!
