⚜️ANTIQUE KPM SALT DIP⚜️
✨DESCRIPTION
Elevate your collection or dining table styling with this exquisite antique KPM Berlin porcelain double salt cellar. This rare, finely crafted figural centerpiece depicts a classical cherub standing gracefully between two scalloped, shell-like bowls. Each dish is adorned inside with vibrant, hand-painted polychrome floral sprays featuring striking blue and pink blossoms, framed by delicate gold gilt trim.
The base shows beautiful Rococo-style scrolling elements with light green and gold accents.
The mark under the base is the famous underglaze blue Crossed Swords mark of Meissen porcelain. Furthermore, the specific style of this mark—featuring a prominent dot / star nestled between the crossguards—indicates that this piece belongs to the highly coveted Marcolini Period (circa 1774–1814), named after Count Camillo Marcolini, director of the Meissen factory.. Perfect as a functional tabletop accessory, a unique trinket holder, or a standout display piece for antique collectors.
The piece is not without issue- it has suffered an interior chip to one side of the salt tip which also caused a hairline crack. Still a highly coveted period piece and even with the damage quite functional and display worthy.
