Step back into the Golden Age of postcards with this rare, authentic antique Halloween postcard published by the renowned Whitney Manufacturing Company (circa 1910).
This wonderfully spooky and whimsical piece features a detailed, heavily embossed design. The front depicts a terrified young boy running along a fence line under a crescent moon, while two robed ghosts peer over the wooden fence holding glowing, expressive Jack-O'-Lanterns. Perched between the ghosts is an eerie black cat staring into the night. The classic, stylized "Halloween" greeting is beautifully detailed on the wooden fence.
The back features a classic crisp green or black printed layout with traditional areas designated for correspondence and address information, complete with original domestic "One Cent" and foreign "Two Cents" stamp rate boxes.
