The visual depicts a child dressed in a white, clown-like "Mummer's Suit" nestled high up in a pine tree, completely surrounded by a parliament of watchful owls under a bright crescent moon.
The lower portion displays a beautifully stylized typography box reading, "Halloween Greeting" alongside stacked jack-o'-lanterns and a seasonal verse: "When the owls begin to hoot! Quickly don your mummer's suit, steal softly out, and don't be late, for Hallowe'en decides your fate." The bottom margin carries the official imprint: "Design Copyrighted. John Winsch, 1912."
The reverse side features a crisp, unposted divided back printed with the classic "Post Card" banner, a designated box for domestic one-cent or foreign two-cent stamps, and the vertical margin mark "Printed in Germany"—a hallmark signature of high-quality early 20th-century lithography.
