🔮Halloween Stetcher Series 400Postcard🔮

 🎃 DESCRIPTION

Bring classic Edwardian charm to your collection with this exceptionally scarce, authentically postmarked 1913 Halloween postcard published by the celebrated Stecher Lithographic Company.
The front face features a highly sought-after, embossed illustration by renowned children's author and fantasy artist Margaret Evans Price (signed as M.E.P.). The whimsical scene depicts a sweet young boy in a blue suit trying to sneak a kiss from a startled little girl sitting on a wooden chair. She wears a striking bright yellow dress beautifully patterned with silhouetted black cats and a large red bow in her hair. The boy holds up a stalk of field corn, while a cheerful, smiling carved Jack-o'-lantern rests on the floor next to them. The left side is framed with the stylized vertical text "HALLOWEEN GREETINGS".
The reverse side is postmarked November 1, 1913, at 10:30 AM in Scranton, Pennsylvania, featuring a clear circular cancellation over a green one-cent George Washington postage stamp. It is handwritten in ink and addressed to Mr. & Mrs. F. Brundage in Belmont, New York (Box 297) with a warm personal greeting signed "from Harriet & Marguerite." It carries the distinctive publisher series mark "Series 400 A" in the lower left corner. This rare example of early 20th-century holiday paper ephemera boasts superb color vibrancy and highly detailed embossing, making it an excellent centerpiece for collectors of historical seasonal art.
