English Derby Porcelain Duesbury Period 18th Century Cup & Saucer Set

A wonderful 18th century Derby soft paste porcelain cup and saucer decorated with delicate hand painted gold trim and scroll design, further highlighted with blue trim on the edge.


Some wear to decoration at edges (rims), a few fleabite nicks to bottom rim (largest photoed).

Backstamp:
crown, crossed swords, dots and ‘D’ in puce enamel:
adopted during the management of William Duesbury II from about 1784. Referred to as the "Duesbury Period". The mark, as shown, was continued in use by Robert Bloor until circa. 1820.
In puce color as this one is dates the cup to be circa 1782-1800.

Saucer plate 5 1/4" diam
Cup stands approx 3" tall
