Antique Hand Painted Miniature Portrait Painting Madame de Pompadour Gilt Brass Frame Artist Signed 'David'

A miniature portrait painting and wonderful early rendition of François-Hubert Drouais's Death portrait of Madame de Pompadour, Louis XV's mistress. The portrait is signed upper left area "A. David" and housed behind glass in a gold gilt brass ornately carved brass frame. The painting appears to be on wafer bone and well executed on such a delicate medium. 

Circa 1800s

Dimensions: Approx. 1.50" W., 2.75" T.

Condition: Overall Excellent, No Visible Damage
