Great Early RPPC real photo postcard shows the a group of men walking through a leveled wooded area, postcards reads " Timber explosion glycerin explosion Fulmer Valley April 1910." We were able to locate this exact postcard image in a genealogical book titled "Wellsville" by Thelma Rogers. The image along with the a description of the event is listed in the book and reads as follows: "an oil well worker by the name of Charles Key had driven his horse and wagon in Fulmer Valley when the magazine holding nitroglycerin suddenly detonated. No reason other than the unstable nature of the material could be given for the explosion. Windows were shattered for miles around, and little could be found of Key."
