Antique Armor Mesh Rosary Purse Cherub Carved Top Jeweled Glass Amethyst

This exquisite miniature rosary purse showcases intricate armor mesh craftsmanship with beautifully embossed cherub faces adorning the top, each crowned with a striking purple amethyst glass jewel. A treasured piece from the mid-1800s through 1920s era, it remains fully functional with smooth opening and closing mechanisms. Originally crafted to safeguard rosary beads and often given as cherished communion gifts, this rare find is remarkably well-preserved. Two small decorative metal beads are absent from the bottom, adding to its authentic vintage character. At just 3.25 inches long, this true miniature gem represents a wonderful slice of devotional history and makes a meaningful addition to any collection.

Condition: some scratches to amethyst stone, there is a small silver bead that hangs from the bottom on the right indicating there was once probably three of these, can easily be found and replaced if desired. The top could use a little cleaning as a closeup under a magnifier shows a little green oxidation in the crevices. It probably also once had a finger ring around the small chain as was customary with these bags.
