Griggs (signed HBG), this beautiful piece features a classic Victorian lady dressed in green, engaging in a traditional Halloween divination game. The verse reads: "On Hallow-e'en your ball of yarn from out the window fling, and he who is to be your fate will come to wind the string!"
The reverse side reveals a divided back format with a beautiful green 1-Cent U.S. Postage stamp cancelled in Rolls, W.Va. on Oct 29, 1910. It features a handwritten message sent to a resident in Martinsburg, WV. A fantastic addition to any holiday ephemera collection or vintage display!
