Venini Italian Art Glass “Fazzoletto” Handkerchief Vase Fulvio Bianconi Design

A beautifully cased glass handkerchief vase crafted by hand and mouth-blown into what is referred to as lattimo glass, a milk-white glass invented in Murano in the 15th century to imitate porcelain, then layered with cerulean blue glass sheets to create an intense and vibrant color.
The form was originally designed by Fulvio Bianconi in 1948, a distinctive shape that reproduces the graceful folds of a handkerchief ("fazzoletto" in Italian) with sensual and natural fluidity.
Signed and dated on bottom.
