⚜️ANTIQUE HOGARTH PLAQUE ⚜️
✨DESCRIPTION
Enhance your fine art collection with this exquisite antique hand-painted porcelain plaque platter, featuring a beautifully rendered adaptation of William Hogarth’s famous satirical masterpiece, "Marriage à la Mode: Plate 2" (The Tête-à-Tête). William Hogarth (1697-1764) was an English painter, engraver, printmaker, pictorial satirist, social critic, and editorial cartoonist.
This striking, large display piece showcases incredible artistic detail, capturing the colorful chaos, rich interior styling, and theatrical wit of the Georgian era. The fluid brushwork, specialized palette, and decorative rim configuration strongly point to the masterful craftsmanship of an unknown 19th-century French or continental porcelain artist.
Finished with a sculpted, scalloped edge and delicate, radiating gold gilt borders, this impressive charger serves as a captivating statement piece for a grand dining room wall, mantle display, or historical cabinet collection.
