George Renouard Etching Pencil Drawing Signed & Titled Bad News Women in Apartment

This original etching depicts a group of women in an interior scene, titled ""Bad News"" on the reverse. 

It measures 8"x10""(image), overall 12.5"x11". 

The etching is signed under the plate and signed with his name, NYC address, title, and edition number on the reverse . 

Condition is very good. 

This was purchased along with six other Renouard etchings, (some signed, some not) from the estate of a Renouard family friend in Batavia, NY which is about 20 miles away from Rochester, NY, Renouard's home town.

George Renouard (American 1884-1954) painter, printer and graphic artist was born in Rochester, NY but spent most of his adult life in New York City where he studied under John Sloan and Mahonri Young. His work often depicted life amongst the immigrants, beggars, and poor class of society. Renouard's work has been widely exhibited and his work can be seen in the Brooklyn Museum as well as, many other fine establishments.
