Rookwood Cherry Blossom Vellum Vase 1911 Elizabeth Lincoln

A stunning Arts & Craft period Rookwood vase by well recognized artist Elizabeth Lincoln produced in 1911. The more unusual shaped vase is executed in the Vellum glaze and fully marked on the bottom. Hand decorated with cherry blossoms along a black bottom giving way to the black limbs with the delicate pink blossoms giving way to the light backdrop and is very reminiscent of the sun going down cascading its last light against the flowering trees.

Rookwood Fire logo, date mark XI, shape #1659E("E" marking is the size of the vase) and "V" stands for vellum glaze. Artist signed "LNL"

Measurements: Stands 7 1/2" and 3 1/4" W.

Condition: Overall EX, No chips, cracks, or repairs, uncrazed

Elizabeth Neave Lincoln (1892-1931)

Artist Elizabeth (Lizbeth) Neve Lincoln worked for Rookwood from 1892-1931 and produced what is considered to be above average pieces. Her artistry showcased the Arts & Crafts Movement with the simple lines, mute tones, and understated designs, a gem of an artist, this vase is a wonderful example of her talent.
