LIMOGES Jean Pouyat Porcelain Pitcher Dragon Handle 12"

A Limoges french porcelain ewer style tankard pitcher by Jean Pouyat with applied dragon handle and spout in the shape of a man's face called the 'man of the north', the entire piece is hand painted with red currants and entwined green leaves. Beautiful colors with striking form.

Backstamp Mark:
Jean Pouyat factory underglaze mark 5 (circa 1891) JPL

Condition:
Excellent, very minimal age wear, no chips, nicks, crazing or cracks. Only issue is a small paint smudge on lower area of handle, it is original to the making and appears to be the artists finger print smudge as its under the glaze.
