A wonderful 19th Century transferware plate in red by Adams of Staffordshire England in the Caledonia Pattern, Caledonia Latin for Scotland. The plate depicts a Scottish Highlander in kilt and uniform with his loyal dog hunting a stag on a mountainside. The plate has four scenes showing the highlander atop a mountain along the scalloped rim. Back is marked with the pattern name and impressed with Adams.
