Hand Colored Engraving 1830s Original Framed Bronzed Rooster Bird By Jardine

A very nice original hand colored steel engraving Published 1833-43 by W.H.Lizars, Edinburgh for "The Naturalist's Library" by Sir William Jardine. This engraving shows an image of the bronzed cock rooster bird. Engraving is in a very nice professional wood frame with cloth matte. Back label indicates the framing was in Oct of 1976.


Measures 10"x 12"; image is 4 1/2" x 6"

Condition: Overall VG to EX. frame has some minor dings but retains its nice original finish, cloth background is free of stains, engraving is free from tears and heavy soiling, some light foxing at edges, consistent with age.
